In the lecture H. D. Nicolay presented the concept he has developed in therapy and teaching with which he has helped thousands of children suffering from reading and writing difficulties and dyslexia to read and write error free. The lecture also contained a presentation with children. Parents, teachers and therapists received practical advise how they can help such children and can effectively prevent the occurence of reading and writing difficulties.

H. D. Nicolay introduced his new book, “The Dyslexia Myth” during the lecture. This practical guide for helping others to help themselves gives parents, teachers and therapists skill to help children with reading and writing difficulties and dyslexia to read and write error and to prevent the occurrence of such reading and writing difficulties. It shows them how to facilitate the ability to concentrate, self-esteem and autonomous learning. It also shows how the method can be used to facilitate learning in other subjects. Part of the book is made up of a step for step guide which addresses children in a language they can understand. The lecture also comprised a practical demonstration with children.

For all schools using the grading system and the parent committees of such schools. For “free schools such as Waldorf and Montessori etc. And their parent committees. H. D. Nicolay gives practical advice and demonstrates with children how parents can effectively support their children at home to read and write error free and can acquire knowledge in mathematics and other subjects or can successful learn the material they have chosen themselves. Teachers are given practical advice on how to integrate this in their teaching.

The pupils‘ seminar explains the teaching concept for acquiring writing skills which helps those with reading and writing difficulties or dyslexia to read and write error free in the classroom and how to prevent the emergence of reading and writing difficulties. Moreover it reinforces the ability to relax and to concentrate. The method can also be applied successfully in other subjects.
